Review by Ricardo Bolanos
Austrian Death Machine is back with the follow-up to the hugely successful Total Brutal from last year. Now Austrian Death Machine ups the ante with a two CD set. Double Brutal features one disc of all new tracks as heavy and in the tradition of all of their greatest cinematic moments, and a second disc of brutal covers, including songs originally performed by Metallica, Megadeath, Misfits, Judas Priest, and also throwing in a little punk by adding a Agnostic Front cover. I personally am a big fan of the Austrian Death Machine, and Double Brutal is as hardcore as Total Brutal. In comparison, the tempo is fast and guitar solos can be found on every track. To my satisfaction, Double Brutal has more of the Governator on all the songs and the skits are hilarious. I felt that the first CD needed more of the Arnold Schwarzenegger character and Double Brutal has double the Arnold. Sweet! You can't help but laugh when you hear the song ''Who Told You You Could Eat My Cookies?". This one is my personal favorite. Tim Lambesis, who is the creator of Austrian Death Machine and front man for the band As I Lay Dying, is as metal as The Terminator himself. Tim plays all of the instruments for the A.D.M project. Truly a one man show, not bad for a Christian boy. Tim is notable for his screamed vocals which are influenced by such bands as In Flames, Living Sacrifice and At the Gates. Double Brutal is sure to please any fan of metal music and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
